YOUTH SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM
The Navy Youth Sponsorship Program is designed for children in grades third through twelfth. A youth sponsor can provide you with information about schools, shopping, culture, or maybe even become your new friend! Youth sponsorship is coordinated through Child and Youth Programs and will match sponsors to incoming youths according to gender, age/grade, interests/hobbies, and the school you are attending.
The Navy Youth Sponsorship Program provides access to positive peer groups and social activities which help Navy children feel connected to their new duty station.
Requesting a Youth Sponsor
Moving to a completely new location is sometimes scary, exciting, but always new and different. It always helps when you have someone that can show you around and tell you about your new school, community, places to see and shop, and introduce you to new friends with similar interests. Having a Navy Youth Sponsor as you relocate can help make your transition to a new place smoother.
If you will be moving to the area, sign-up for the program and be assigned a youth sponsor and learn all about the great offerings of your new community!
