Free Youth and Teen Programming!
Did you know we offer free recreational programming for youth ages 9-12, and for teens ages 13-18?
Our Youth & Teen programs are currently undergoing a refresh, but our current schedule is as follows: Teen Programming: Tuesdays from 2pm-5:30pm, and Fridays from 2pm-8pm. Youth Programming: Fridays from 5:30pm-8pm. During these times, registered youth and teens are able to come into the program. Youth will be provided with opportunities to interact with their peers, engage in cooking projects, art activities, STEM projects, use video games, computers, virtual reality software, arcade games, and even attend field trips. We also offer a variety of clubs and activities that they can participate in to help develop their leadership skills and focus on academic success. Registration for the program is free, but a registration packet is still required. If your child is already enrolled in SAC, ask our front desk clerk about a transition form to allow your youth to participate in our programming, and to get on our email list so that you receive our monthly calendar, newsletter, and program updates. Being actively engaged and involved with our youth center also increases you youth’s accessibility to scholarship options down the road, as we are affiliated with Boys and Girls Clubs of America. The largest scholarship event we participate in each year is BGCA’s Youth of the Year- a leadership skills and community involvement competition where teens ages 14-18 who have been involved with the center for at least two years have the opportunity to compete at a local, state, regional, and national level, with the potential to win up to $50,000 in scholarship money. You can see information about our most recent Youth of the Year by clicking HERE. If you would like any additional information, have questions,, or would like to email your completed registration packet, please feel free to contact our Teen Coordinator, Kayla Miner via phone or email: 860-448-6843 [email protected] |
